We came away with one immediate action item, which is to formulate our mission statement like many other Occupy groups are doing. We want to focus Facebook posts on subjects that will illuminate this effort, for the next week or so.
Anyone is welcome to submit a draft declaration, partial or complete, either original or adapted from elsewhere, deadline Wed. 1/4/2012; these will be posted on the blog, at which point people can comment for another week, and then a group will assemble it into a final document. So please participate!

David and I are going out of town Saturday 12/31 for New Year’s. If anybody wants the signs, contact us before noon.
More agenda suggestions:
–Create a FAQ with ways to reasonably counter typical criticisms of OWS/OJH
–Encourage guidelines for signage and discussions (stop using “greedy”, stress getting money and corporate influence out of politics, etc. The whole aim is to convince others of the rightness of our cause, right?)
–Let the other side be the name-callers. Let’s always be reasonable, pleasant, but persistent.
It might be time to occupy our elected representatives local offices….

Are you saying that the next occupy event will start at 2:00 p.m. instead of 1:00 on December 10, and a General Assembly will be held on the same Saturday right after the event…let’s say at 3:00 or 3:30? This is important to me, because I have to drive a long way to get there, and I would like to attend the GA as well as occupy. Thanks for clarifying!

That’s exactly right! We were hoping to encourage more people to attend both events by scheduling them together.
Make sure your sign is easy to read from a distance. This is a much wider street than we’re used to.
